It is my privilege and honor to welcome you to the 25th anniversary annual meeting of SASRO, the SASRO 2525. We will celebrate this very special event in person in the pleasing village of Rorschach on September 2-3, 2021. For those who will not be able to participate in person, we will provide online access as well.
The pre-meeting activities will start on September 1st with the SRO General Assembly. On Thursday September 2nd we will offer a pre-meeting "Radiation Oncology goes digital", with keynote lectures and “pearls and pitfalls” when implementing digital workflows in our clinics.
Artificial Intelligence meets Compassion is the main topic of this year's SASRO. In Radiation Oncology, we strive to increase accuracy and precision to achieve optimized clinical outcomes with negligible side-effects for our cancer patients. In fact, artificial intelligence (AI) has become an indispensable tool in our daily professional activities. The organizing committee is very pleased that renowned national and international experts have accepted our invitation to share their views on AI and to discuss its pros and cons in cancer care, while always keeping the patient at the very centre of care and compassion. Finally, we are grateful to our industrial partners for their loyalty in times of economic difficulties who have substantially contributed to the financial success of our meeting. They also share their perspectives on the recent developments in AI as part of the scientific program. Beside keynote lectures, the program also includes many interdisciplinary debates and a special platform for our young colleagues to present their research projects.
