Every year, the SASRO allocates a maximum amount for grants in the budget. The SASRO Executive Committee takes its decision within the framework of its regular meetings. The Committee is under no obligation to justify its decisions.

SASRO Grant is awarded to research projects of young SASRO members (under 35 years of age or in-training or PhD students) working in Switzerland, preferentially in training. Research projects from any field within radiation oncology qualify (clinical, physics, technicians, biology, nursing).

For 2024 there is one grant of 5000.- CHF available.

The application is to consist of:

  • Applicant’s contact details and short CV
  • Project summary (including collaborators and description of the institution) (max. 2 pages pdf)
  • Brief budget.

The submission deadline will be announced in due time. 

The applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the SASRO Executive Committee.

The winner(s) will be announced during the SASRO Annual Meeting.

The winner (s) should prepare an in-terms report yearly and a final report, after the project is finished. The project should be then submitted as an abstract to the SASRO annual meeting either as oral presentation or poster (also in case of negative result). 

Grant awardees should mention the SASRO grant in their publication.
